For Immediate Release
Joe Nolan and USA Media Rights are pleased to announce the signing of the East Nashville singer/songwriter to a new music publishing agreement with Creative Songwriters Music (BMI). The Santa Monica-based publishing house will be administering Nolan's songwriting catalog as well as promoting Nolan's songs for sync licensing opportunities in film, television and advertising.
“I met Joe at a singer/songwriter event in Hollywood, California years back; we were both singing our own songs," recalls Erik Steigen, President & CEO of USA Media Rights, the parent company of Joe’s new publisher, Creative Songwriters Music (BMI). "I was immediately struck by the quality of Joe’s music, his perfectly raw voice, sincere lyrics and unique yet familiar-sounding style. I tried signing him a few times in the past, and luckily we both now felt the time was right."
"Publishing deals I've made in the past have offered resources along with restrictions," explains Nolan. "In the post-internet music world, songwriters have to strike a balance between maintaining control of their catalogs and forming effective promotional partnerships. I'm excited to be on the Creative Songwriters roster. This is the kind of agreement that will maximize Erik's expertise, experience and industry connections within the framework of a dynamic partnership that can respond effectively to the ever-changing landscape of the contemporary music scene."
Nolan and Steigen have teamed up over the years for a few individual pitches, and this new agreement evidences an already long-term relationship that has always been rooted in music.
"When I listen to Joe’s music, such as the beautiful 'All My Love,' I hear Van Morrison meeting David Gray, and on songs like 'Rambling Down The Highway' he takes you down the scenic route of days gone by," says Steigen. "Joe is the quintessential Americana songwriter. We are very happy to have him join us."
