Fredrik Strand Halland is an LA-based guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and record producer from Bergen, Norway.

In 2015, Fredrik wrote a song idea that ended up becoming "Mark My Words" on Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' album, released November 13, 2015. It's the first track on this RIAA 3x platinum-certified collection of songs, and is also the song Justin Bieber opens his live shows with on the 'Purpose World Tour.'

"Mark My Words" the single was certified Gold by the RIAA in July 2016.

Fredrik has been described as a “musical prodigy” and “guitar phenomenon.”  Born and raised in Bergen, Norway, Fredrik began playing the guitar at age 7 under the guidance of his father.  When he turned 9, he began taking lessons from guitarist Mads Eriksen of local fame, who first introduced Fredrik to the Blues – the music he would fall in love with.

By the time Fredrik turned 12, he had over 100 live performances under his belt with appearances at several renowned music festivals including the Notodden Blues Festival in Norway, the Aamal and Orland Blues Festival in Sweden, the Blues Fest in Fredrikshavn, Denmark and SXSW in Austin, Texas.

Recognized early on as a musical prodigy, Fredrik was accepted into the prestigious music program at Norway’s Langhaugen High School.  Excelling at an extraordinary rate and quickly outgrowing his environment, Fredrik soon needed new experiences to continue his musical growth.

Fredrik received a scholarship to attend the world-renowned Musician's Institute of Contemporary Music in Hollywood, California, which provided Fredrik with new musical opportunities and networking opportunities.

After graduating from Musician's Institute with honors, Fredrik decided to start his musical penmanship with writing songs and creating music through his own production and publishing company “Surrounded By Seven” that pays homage to his home country, named after the mountains surrounding his hometown Bergen.

Fredrik has gained mass exposure by playing with many respected musicians from around the world, and he was selected as the first runner-up in Guitar Player Magazine’s “Guitar Superstar 2011” competition hosted by legendary guitarist Larry Carlton.  Fredrik has performed and toured with many recording artists, including Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, Jesse McCarthy, Kat Graham and Becky G, including the opportunity to arrange and perform 'The Star Spangled-Banner' with Colbie Caillat for the 2014 NBA Finals.

Up until recently, Fredrik was a hired studio guitarist and idea maker for Grammy Award-winning writer/producer Rodney Jerkins, which resulted in Fredrik contributing on records for recording artists such as Justin Bieber, Stanaj, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Joy Enriquez and on Michael Jackson's “Xscape” album.
